Carolina Hellsgård is a filmmaker – her films have screened in numerous
venues and festivals internationally, including the Anthology Film Archives,
New York, the Oberhausen Kurzfilmtage, Volksbühne Filmbühne and
the Rio de Janeiro Curta Cinema Festival, Brazil. Her thesis film "Karaoke"
won first prize at the Regensburg Short Film Week, Germany.
"Hunger" was recently awarded the prestigious Jury Special Price at the
Festival Internacional de cine Cinema Jove, Spain.

After receiving a MFA from the Berlin University of Arts in 2007, she received a
DAAD-postgraduate artist grant for Los Angeles, where she studied film directing
and screenwriting at the California Institute of the Arts.

Hellsgård currently works as a writer and director in Stockholm and Berlin. She also
curates art film screenings and art events in Berlin and beyond.
